Harden appointed Associate Chief Nursing Officer/AVP of UNC Hospitals

Jacqueline Harden, MHA, MBA, BSN, RN, NE-BC, has been promoted to Associate Chief Nursing Officer/AVP of UNC Hospitals. Please read the following message about the appointment from Catherine Madigan, DNP, RN, Chief Nursing Officer and Senior Vice President of UNC Hospitals.

I am pleased to announce that Jacqueline Harden, MHA, MBA, BSN, RN, NE-BC, has been promoted to Associate Chief Nursing Officer/AVP of UNC Hospitals.

Jacci has served as the Director of the Heart and Vascular (H&V) Inpatient services since January of 2011 as well as Director for the Vascular Access Team, the Adult Specialty Care Team/Rapid Response Nursing Team and UNC Hospitals Chest Pain Center Accreditation Process. Jacci started her career at UNC Hospitals in 1998 as a staff nurse, and was promoted to Nurse Manager of the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit in 2003, where she served until her appointment as Director in 2011.

Jacci received the Fran Ross Memorial Nursing Scholarship in 2009 and the School of Medicine Nursing Recognition Award for Nursing Management in 2010. She has served as the UNC Health Care system Carolina Value Non-Labor Solution team Nursing representative and Med-Surg Implementation Team Lead, on the UNC Health Care Heart & Vascular Quality and Value Committee, the UNC Hospitals Epic Clinical Implementation Council and the UNC Hospitals Readmission Prevention Leadership Team and Cardiology Readmission Task Force teams, amongst others. Additionally, Jacci is a member of the American Organization of Nurse Executives and has multiple publications to her credit.

I will update you as we work out the transition plan for Jacci and interim coverage for H&V inpatient services. In the meantime, please join me in welcoming Jacci to her new role!
