Open Enrollment reminders

Remember that you will automatically be reverted to the 70/30 plan if you don't enroll during the Open Enrollment period, which lasts through Oct. 31. Please read these important reminders on not waiting until the end of the period to enroll, NCFlex and other benefits being offered, and remaining information sessions.

Employees will be reverted to 70/30 plan if they do not enroll during Open Enrollment period
UNC Medical Center employees (including those who enrolled, upon their hire, between Jan. 1, 2016, and Sept. 30, 2016) are automatically moved to the 70/30 plan for 2017, regardless of what level of coverage they had during 2016, if they do not enroll during the Open Enrollment period. Employees MUST login and enroll or call the Eligibility and Enrollment Support Center (1-855-859-0966/M-F, 8 a.m. – 10 p.m.; Saturday, 9 a.m. – 3 p.m.) if they want another level of coverage (80/20 or CDHP). Everyone who opts for another level of coverage must complete wellness activities for the lowest premium. Do not wait to enroll
Please do not wait to enroll. Traditionally, the last week of enrollment has the highest volume of people statewide enrolling in the State Health Plan; we expect that to be the case this year. If you wait, the chance of website issues increases because of heavy traffic, and you are more likely to have trouble connecting with representatives who can help you. Many representatives will be busy with other callers or walk-ins.
