Writing for Resilience
Writing for Resilience, a weekly writing group, meets every Tuesday from noon - 1 p.m. in the John M. Reeves Memorial Chapel. It is open to all in the hospital and community. No writing experience is necessary.
Free Drop In Photo Session for Faculty and APPs
We will be offering a free drop-in photography session for UNC School of Medicine faculty members and UNC Health Care advanced practice providers (AuDs, CRNAs, CNMs, CNSs, CPPs, LCSWs, NPs, OTs, PTs, PAs and SLPs) on Friday, Dec. 8. Non-faculty advanced practice providers must provide direct, clinical patient care in the outpatient setting in order to be photographed.
Overlook Cafe closed Dec. 13 and 14
The Overlook Café will be closed Dec. 13 – 14 to help support the Holiday Celebration that will take place from 1 - 4 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 14. It will reopen and return to normal operating hours on Friday, Dec. 15. Nutrition and Food Services would like to thank you for your continued support of their retail venues.
New image for login screen, desktop background coming Dec. 18
On Monday, Dec. 18, employees at Chatham, High Point Regional, Johnston Health, UNC Medical Center, and UNC REX Healthcare will notice a new standard login screen and desktop background for their computers as part of an effort by Communications & Marketing and ISD to create a consistent user experience across UNC Health Care and simplify technical support by supplying pertinent technical information on the desktop (e.g. computer name, IP address, etc.).
Coming Dec. 8 - Invitation to Enroll in SmartNotice Emergency Alert System
On Friday, Dec. 8, UNC Medical Center employees and School of Medicine clinical faculty members will receive an email invitation from 'noreply@onsolve.com' with the subject line of “Contact Group Enrollment Invitation” to enroll in the 'SmartNotice' emergency alert system if they have not already signed up.
McLendon Labs Memo: Changes in Reflex Policy for Hepatitis C Laboratory Testing
Beginning immediately, a reflex test for Hepatitis C Genotype (LAB915) will automatically be added when the reflexed HCV RNA quantitative viral load is reported as Detected >500 IU/ml. Full details can be found here.

Space Reporting Field Audit
A field audit will be conducted during the week of Dec. 11 through 15 to confirm space assignments are accurate in our data management system used the required annual CMS reimbursement reporting.
Transportation Impacts of the Chapel Hill-Carrboro Holiday Parade
The Chapel Hill-Carrboro Holiday Parade will be held on Saturday, Dec. 9 from 10 a.m. to noon. Roads along the parade route will be closed during that time. Please plan accordingly.
Healthwise Patient Instructions will be updated Dec. 12
There will be an upgrade to our Healthwise patient instructions found through the Clinical References (or References) link in the Epic@UNC chart. This upgrade includes new patient instructions, new illustrations in patient instructions, patient instructions with medical revisions, patient instructions with title changes, and patient instruction enhancements.

Infant and Adult Armbands: Update to 2D Barcode
On Tuesday, Dec. 12, the infant and adult armbands will be updated so that the 2D barcode will repeat along the strap of the band.
Providers: New Newborn Nursery Admission Order Set
On Dec 13, 2017, a new Newborn Nursery Admission orderset will go into Epic@UNC and three existing Order Sets will be retired and no longer be available. See details at this Intranet link.

Planned Lawson Downtime Dec. 10
There is a planned Lawson downtime scheduled from 6 – 8 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 10. Lawson will be unavailable for all entities during this time. This downtime will include all Lawson modules including Mobile Supply Chain, RQC (Requisitioning), HR, Payroll, Purchasing, Accounts Payable, Manager Self-Service, Employee Self-Service and Finance.
Get Started on Your Visit with My UNC Chart; WebEx sessions Dec. 11, 12, 13, and 15
Get Started is a revamped My UNC Chart feature (replacing eCheck-In) that will Go-Live on Thursday, Dec. 14, 2017. Get Started is designed to improve patient engagement, the check-in process, and allow patients a head start on providing/updating patient information.
