Some Changes in Coverage Will be Reflected on Dec. 13 Paychecks

Because health insurance is paid one month in advance, employees should expect to see changes in 2018 enrollment coverage reflected in the Dec. 13 paycheck. Information on what to expect can be found here.

  • Those with employee-only coverage will see a significant increase in deductions made for health insurance coverage. Depending on the plan chosen this change may be from $0 to $12.50, or from $7.52 to $25.00
  • Some employees will see increased Health Benefit Special Pay. For employees earning $35,000/year or less it will increase from 40% to 50%.
  • Please review the pay advice you will receive on Dec. 8 carefully and pay close attention to any errors in the coverage listed or the deduction charged. While the Benefits office has made every effort to ensure enrollments have been processed correctly, it is possible that errors have occurred.
    • The State Health Plan only allows until the end of January to verify what was requested during the open enrollment period. If you do find an error, please contact the Benefits office so that it may be corrected as soon as possible.
  • All other benefit changes from open enrollment (Flex spending, dental, vision, etc.) will not affect paychecks until January.

Please call the Benefits line with any questions/concerns at 984-974-1100. Leave a message if your call isn’t immediately answered and a representative will be in touch as soon as possible. The Benefits office would like to thank you in advance for your patience during this period as call volumes increase while open enrollment changes are processed.
