Sign up for online access for 2016 W-2 information by Jan. 16; address changes due by Jan. 12

UNC Medical Center, Chatham Hospital and UNC Hospitals-paid Faculty Physicians employees who would like online access to current and prior W-2s but haven't previously authorized this access must sign up by Monday, Jan. 16. If you choose not to authorize electronic delivery, your W-2 will be printed and mailed to your home address of record via the US Postal Service on or before Jan. 31 of each year. Address changes must be made by 5 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 12, to be reflected on the current year’s tax form.

If you haven’t previously authorized online access to current and prior W-2s, sign up by Monday, Jan. 16, using the instructions available at this Intranet link

Once you authorize electronic delivery of your W-2:

  • You will be able to log into Document Self Service at any time and view and print your current or historical W-2s.
  • You may optionally choose to have your W-2 information automatically populate the Turbo-Tax filing software when you file your taxes each spring.
  • You will not receive a printed copy in the mail.

UNC Medical Center, Chatham Hospital and UNC Hospitals-paid Faculty Physicians and staff employees can access 2016 W-2s electronically via Document Self Service beginning Jan. 20. If you authorized electronic access to your W-2 in previous years, no action is required. 

If you choose not to authorize electronic delivery, your W-2 will be printed and mailed to your home address of record via the US Postal Service on or before Jan. 31 of each year.

Address changes must be made by 5 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 12, to be reflected on the current year’s tax form. Address updates can be made online through Employee Self Service.
