Providers: Update on MIPS Participation Status Letters

Providers across UNC Health Care will shortly be receiving notifications from CMS regarding participation in the new (effective 1/1/17) Merit-Based Incentive Payment System (MIPS). No action is required of UNC Health Care-employed providers - Practice Quality & Innovation (PQI) will facilitate a smooth transition from the former individual Medicare regulatory payment programs into MIPS and coordinate the submission of MIPS data for applicable UNC Health Care entities and provider groups.

ED Providers: Pre-sedation Assessment added to ED Sedation Procedure Note

A Pre-Sedation Assessment documentation block is now available from the ED Sedation procedure note for ED providers. The Pre-Sedation Assessment contains ASA and Mallampati scores, which were requested by providers and approved at a recent ED roundtable. You should now be able to use the ED Sedation procedure note to place these scores into your notes (instead of using SmartPhrases/SmartTexts).

Starting May 9, 2017, Epic@UNC will automatically adjust the copay from $25 to $10 for patients with 80/20 State Health Plan coverage who have appointments with their primary care provider (PCP) as identified on their insurance (or with another provider in their PCP’s department).
