Visitor Restrictions Are in Place Across UNC Hospitals for Children Under 12

To ensure the safety of our patients, children ages 11 and younger are prohibited from visiting inpatient areas, inpatient waiting rooms and operative waiting rooms at UNC Hospitals. These restrictions were previously in place for the Newborn Critical Care Center (NCCC), Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU), and Bone Marrow Transplant Unit (BMTU) at UNC Hospitals.

McLendon Labs Memo: Changes to 25-Hydroxy Vitamin D Testing

Effective Jan 8, 2018, 25-Hydroxy Vitamin D testing will change from a laboratory developed test using mass spectrometry to a FDA-approved test that uses immunoassay methodology which is certified by the CDC Vitamin D Standardization Certification Program.

On Christmas Day, WNCN featured a story on the "Family Time" program at UNC Children's, which allows parents with children in the Newborn Critical Care Center to see them on a live video feed 24 hours a day. Inpatient Providers: ‘Inpatient Consult to Clinical Ethics’ order now available

All Providers across UNC Health Care can now order an “IP Consult to Clinical Ethics.” And those Physicians on the “Clinical Ethics” group at UNC Medical Center now have a folder titled “Clinical Ethics” in the System List under ‘UNCMC Consults – Ancillary.’

Parking and transportation impacts of the Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday

The University will be closed on Monday Jan. 15, 2018, in observance of the Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday. All Park & Ride permit holders and GoPass users will be allowed to park in the S11 parking lots during this time period. On-campus parking permit holders are encouraged to continue to park in their assigned zones. UNC Hospitals shuttles will operate on a normal schedule.
