Fire Alarm Testing - July 17 and 24

To comply with the required commissioning of the new Mechanical System serving the 5 Children’s Protective Environment Unit, the General Contractor will test the Fire Alarm and Smoke Control Life Safety Systems between 10 p.m. - 6 a.m. on July 17 and 24.

While testing these systems, persons on the 4th, 5th, and 6th floors of the Children’s Hospital will experience the following:

  • Fire doors will close and will remain closed during the test.
  • Patient rooms designated as “Protective Rooms” will continue to be positive pressure.
  • Patient rooms designated as “Isolation Rooms” will continue to be negative pressure.
  • The fire alarm strobes will activate during the test.  This will result in a constant flashing of light in the corridors.
  • The fire alarm horns will be silenced immediately.
