Fire Alarm and Sprinkler Testing

A quarterly inspection and test of the fire alarm and sprinkler systems will be taking place throughout UNC Hospitals campus in Chapel Hill from July 9 - 13, 2018. Inspections and tests are also scheduled for the Imaging & Spine Center, Sanford Dialysis, Joint Child Care and Hedrick buildings.

Please join the UNC Cancer Network for an online telehealth lecture with Nicole Sartor, RN, MSN, C-PNP-PC. This talk will address common myths of palliative and hospice care and explore multiple points along the health trajectory of a patient when a team might consider a palliative care consult. We will consider possible sources of suffering and interventions. RN and Allied Health lectures offer FREE CNE and ASRT continuing education credit (upon approval) for eligible participants. Providers: New General Medicine Teaching Service Open at Hillsborough Hospital

The Bondurant-Ehringhaus Service for Teaching (BEST) started accepting patients on Sunday, June 24 at UNC Hospitals Hillsborough Campus. This new adult, general medicine teaching service with a cardiopulmonary emphasis, led by the Department of Medicine Chief Residents, will enhance the ability of the Hillsborough hospital to accept a greater number of high-acuity admissions and transfers, especially from the UNC Medical Center in Chapel Hill. Exceptional clinical educators from the Department of Medicine were selected to rotate as attendings on the BEST Team.

Providers: Save time using one-click access to Controlled Substances Reporting System (CSRS)

Providers can now check the prescription drug monitoring program (PDMP) with one-click in Epic@UNC. In the first week of use, more than 340 providers accessed more than 1,350 PDMP reports using this new functionality. When compared to the prior workflow, we estimate that this change has already saved providers more than 54 hours in the first week! Watch a short video and review details at this link.

New Security Measures for Think Place Begin July 9

Beginning July 9, the 1025 Think Place building on UNC Health Care's Morrisville campus will be implementing new security measures. Employees assigned to this building must swipe their ID badge to access floors 2 through 4 via elevator or stairs. Visitors (employees not assigned to Think Place and guests) must use the new intercom kiosk, located on the first floor across from the elevators. All employees must wear their badges.
