Clean In, Clean Out observation tool upgrade July 2 makes it simpler to submit your observations

In the past five years, UNC Medical Center staff have submitted more than 500,000 hand hygiene observations through the Clean In, Clean Out program! Starting Monday, July 2, an upgraded observation tool will be available to make it even easier for you to submit your hand hygiene observations.

500+ Healthwise videos now available in Epic@UNC to share with our patients

We now have access to more than 500 Healthwise patient education videos. You can share these videos with your patients in two ways: (1) highlight the video from the list of Healthwise materials and print the page with a link and QR code the patient can use to watch the video; or (2) highlight the video from the list of Healthwise materials and attach the link and QR code for the video to the patient's After Visit Summary (AVS). Reminder: American Heart Association Basic Life Support Renewal Class Requirements

The Advanced Life Support Program would like to reminder everyone signed up to take the Basic Life Support Renewal class that they must meet all the requirements for the class in order to take the class. These requirements are included in the LMS course description and in the several email reminders generated by LMS leading up to the class. Anyone who has not met these requirements WILL BE TURNED AWAY FROM THE CLASS. These requirements are mandated by the American Heart Association and must be met.

The Harold R. Roberts Hemophilia Treatment Center at UNC will be offering a multidisciplinary clinic with hematology and gynecology care for women and girls with blood disorders. Women and girls with heavy menstrual bleeding have unique health needs that frequently require care from providers in more than one field. The clinic is a place where patients can have their medical and gynecological needs met in a comprehensive fashion at a single visit.

OWASA to Replace Water Meter in Front of NC Memorial Hospital on Saturday, June 30

Orange Water and Sewer Authority (OWASA) will be replacing the water meter in the underground meter vault located in the brick sidewalk between the NC Memorial Hospital entrance and the NC Children’s Hospital entrance. The work is scheduled for all day on Saturday, June 30. The work requires one of the two driving lanes to be blocked near the meter vault. The other driving lane will remain open. Both lanes will remain open at the NC Children’s Hospital entrance. View images of the affected areas here.

Environmental Services Back to School Drive

Environmental Services is hosting a back to school drive for Orange County Foster Care. EVS Managers can collect items from your area. They are also offering boxes that can be left in your area. When the boxes are full call EVS, and a manager can swing by to pick it up. The drive will continue through the end of July.
