PTO Sell Back Period Nov. 1 – Dec. 1

UNC Medical Center next Paid Time Off (PTO) sell-back election period to employees is Nov. 1 - Dec. 1. To be eligible for the sell-back options, employees must have at least 88 hours of PTO available. Employees are eligible to automatically receive a sell-back based on their election of 25%, 50%, 75% or 100% of all hours over 80 with a minimum of eight hours required for distribution. Visitor Restrictions begin Nov. 19 for the Newborn Critical Care Center, Pediatric Intensive Care Unit, 5 Children’s/Intermediate Care, Bone Marrow Transplant Unit and their waiting areas at UNC Hospitals

Due to an increase in the number of respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) cases in the community, children 11 years of age and younger are prohibited from visiting the Newborn Critical Care Center, Pediatric Intensive Care Unit, 5 Children’s/Intermediate Care, Bone Marrow Transplant Unit and their waiting areas at UNC Hospitals effective November 19 to help ensure the safety of our patients. Children 11 years of age and younger who are in good health may currently visit other areas of UNC Hospitals.

SafetraceTx Blood Bank system planned downtime, Wednesday, Nov 28

There will be a two-hour downtime from 10 a.m. - noon on Wednesday, Nov. 28, for the SafetraceTx (Blood Bank) system. During this downtime you will be able to place orders in Epic@UNC; however, the Blood Bank will not be able to act on any orders until the downtime ends.

Changes to Registration Operations beginning Nov. 26

The last day patients will register in Memorial Admissions & Registration will be Wednesday, Nov. 21. Starting Monday, Nov. 26, all registration activities previously handled in Memorial Admissions & Registration will now be redirected to Women’s Registration. New registration stations and a seating area will be constructed in the Women’s Hospital lobby to accommodate the increased registration volume.
