State Employees Combined Campaign has begun

The UNC family has a long tradition of giving back to the community. Each year our employees support hundreds of charities through the State Employee Combined Campaign (SECC). This year the SECC is open until Friday, Nov. 16.

Every eligible employee will receive an email each Monday during the campaign from secc@unchealth.unc.edu. Each email will provide an overview of the campaign and instructions on how to support their favorite charity through online donations, payroll deduction, PTO donation or by cash or check. There are also multiple search options available to help identify a charity by its mission or location.

To search for a list of charities assisting those affected by Hurricane Florence visit http://www.ncsecc.org,  scroll down to “Search for Your Favorite Charity,” click on “Select Area of Service” and scroll down to select “Disaster Relief & Recovery.” You may also search by county using the geographical location conditions.

Please note that the code required to log in and donate is unique to you. It should not be shared with or forwarded to other coworkers. If you use a code provided to you by a coworker, you are donating as the person who gave you the code.

Paper donation forms are available from SECC captains or by clicking one of these links:

  • Click HERE for the online PTO form.
  • Click HERE to download a pledge for a one-time donation via cash or check.
  • Click HERE to download a PTO paper form.

Completed forms should be turned in to each department’s department head/manager/SECC captain or sent directly to , Human Resources, 7 Anderson, Medical Center. Employees are required to maintain a minimum balance of 80 hours of PTO.

Employees contributing to or opting out on the e-pledge web site will be automatically entered into a weekly prize drawing. Prizes include a choice of Yeti cooler, Kindle Fire HD, Fitbit, Amazon Firestick, or one week of Valet Parking at the Medical Center.

One important note, an anonymous donor to the SECU Family House has issued a challenge: If the Family House raises $10,000 between November 1-10, the donor will match the funds, dollar for dollar. That amount will help fund one room at Family House for 210 nights.
