More information about the Employee Benefits Fair, find out about the upcoming Annual Benefit Enrollment period (Sept. 29 - Oct. 31), as well as details about representative sessions from Fidelity (at Shared Services and UNC Hospitals), CAPTRUST and webinars from TIAA.

Employee Benefits Fair

You may have questions about your benefits or are considering changing them during the annual enrollment scheduled for the month of October. On Sept. 21 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Children's Hospital Concourse, vendors will be available to assist you with your plans. In addition, we will have representatives available for benefits you can enroll in year round.


Annual Benefit Enrollment Sept. 29 to Oct. 31

Open enrollment will be coming soon! Information will be on the Benefits website late next week.


CAPTRUST Financial Advisors Group Sessions 

CAPTRUST Financial Advisors, the independent advisor that works on the UNC retirement program,  will be conducting individual consultations on Wednesday, Sept. 26 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Medical School Wing C (old motel) Room 102.

These one-on-one sessions are offered to you solely as a benefit; be assured that CAPTRUST's role is not to sell you anything, but purely to help you make sound investment decisions. You can schedule an appointment for the individual sessions with a professional CAPTRUST Financial Advisor by following these simple steps:

  • Choose the location
  • Choose an available 30 minute session
  • Enter your information and click “Schedule It”
  • A confirmation email will then be sent immediately
  • A reminder email will also be sent 24 hours in advance of the meeting
  • If you need to cancel or change your meeting time, click the link received in the confirmation/reminder email. Then enter your last name and confirmation number.

Topics covered in the half-hour individual sessions include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Understanding the changes to your plan and how they affect your retirement goals
  • Retirement Planning and Investment Strategy
  • General Financial Planning
  • Assist you with choosing a new retirement provider
  • Determine if you are on track to achieve your retirement goal

Learn how you can protect yourself and your family from cybercriminal social engineering.
  • The Starting Line: Beginning to save for retirement -- 3 to 4 p.m.: You can learn how to evaluate and manage debt, find additional ways to save, create a budget and begin to plan for retirement.
