Employees needing help with their tax preparation may qualify for free assistance through the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program (VITA). Tax prep will not be onsite this year but will be available at VITA locations across NC and qualified employees can have their taxes prepared at State Employee Credit Union.

Fitting and ordering sessions for the uniform polo shirts are next week, April 15 - 17. Additional information regarding dates, times, and locations available at this link. Employees must attend a session next week to order their shirts. A UNC Health Care ID badge will be required to order. For staff who will be on PTO or otherwise cannot attend, there will be an online ordering period from April 22 – May 3.

Beacon Installation and Robotic Mapping to begin April 15 at UNC Medical Center and UNC REX

Later this year, a customized, mobile wayfinding app will be available to help patients, visitors and staff find their way from one end of the hospital to the other at UNC Medical Center and UNC REX Healthcare. We are partnering with a company named Gozio Health to launch this app. Beginning April 15, Gozio Health will be on site at UNC Medical Center and UNC REX to install Bluetooth low energy (BLE) beacons throughout the hospital campus and parking decks.
