$50,000 Innovation Pilot Award Applications Due Jan. 14

The Center for Innovation of the UNC School of Medicine and UNC Health Care released the request for proposal for its 2020 $50,000 Innovation Pilot Awards in early November. All UNC School of Medicine and UNC Health Care employees from any owned entity are eligible to apply. Applications are due Jan. 14, 2020, and as many as four awards of up to $50,000 each will be announced in March 2020.

Veteran’s Affairs Benefits at UNC Health Care

As of Oct. 1, some veterans may not have coverage at UNC Health Care hospitals, clinics or physician practices due to a significant change in the way the VA manages its network of community providers. The VA hired a third-party administrator that has not yet agreed on a new contract with UNC Health Care. We are continuing discussions with the VA and its third-party administrator to resolve this issue.

Concourse between Memorial Hospital and Children’s Hospital Lobbies Closed Dec. 17 – 19

​From Tuesday, Dec. 17 through Thursday, Dec. 19, the concourse that runs between the Memorial Hospital lobby and the Children's Hospital lobby will be closed daily from 7 a.m. until 5 p.m. During this time, Skanska will be using a crane to lift building materials into the Butterfly Garden, and the concourse is being closed out of an abundance of caution.
