Providers: Changes to Referrals to Home Health, Cardiac Rehab, and Hospice

Ambulatory Referrals to Home Health and Cardiac Rehab will require a physician to be entered as the Authorizing Provider. Questions on those orders and the Referral to Hospice have been updated also.

To comply with CMS regulations the Ambulatory Referrals to Home Health and Cardiac Rehab will now require that a physician be entered as the Authorizing Provider. APPs can still place the orders and be listed as the Ordering Provider, but they cannot be listed in the Authorizing Provider field. Additionally, there are new questions and options added to the Referrals to Home Health and Hospice to more efficiently route those orders to the proper location and reduce calls to providers for additional information. The go-live date for these changes is Feb. 26
