Coming to North Carolina: NC REAL ID

Beginning on Oct. 1, 2020, federal agencies will enforce tougher security standards at airport check-ins, federal buildings, military installations and nuclear sites. The N.C. REAL ID is just like a traditional license or ID but has a gold star at the top, and will make more convenient to board a commercial airplane or visit a military base or other federal facility.

Drop-in photo session for School of Medicine faculty and UNC Health Care APPs

There will be a free drop-in photography session for UNC School of Medicine faculty members and UNC Health Care advanced practice providers (AuDs, CRNAs, CNMs, CNSs, CPPs, LCSWs, NPs, OTs, PTs, PAs and SLPs) only in February. Non-faculty advanced practice providers must provide direct, clinical patient care in the outpatient setting in order to be photographed.

Morrisville Campus parking update: Towing enforced for cars parked in undesignated areas

Beginning Jan. 21, 2019, towing will be enforced at the Morrisville Campus (1025 Think Place and 5221 Paramount Parkway) for cars parked outside of regular parking spaces (parked along curbs, on the grass, etc.). Adult Code Blue calls go silent Feb. 4

Starting Monday, Feb. 4, Adult Code Blue calls at UNC Hospitals in Chapel Hill will no longer be announced overhead. Hospital operators will be notifying Adult Code Blue team members of code situations by both Vocera and pager. This change in practice will result in a quieter environment and will decrease the anxiety that patients and families experience when hearing overhead emergency calls.
