New LMS Modules Available from the Beacon Program

UNC Hospitals Beacon Program has developed three new educational modules to increase employees' knowledge about intimate partner and family violence to improve patient care and health outcomes.

UNC Hospitals Beacon Program is announcing three new LMS modules available to all employees to increase knowledge and skills in working with patients who are experiencing intimate partner or family violence to improve patient care and health outcomes. The modules are:

  1. The Beacon Program of UNC Hospitals: This replaces “New Nurse Orientation to Beacon Program”. This module covers working with patients who’ve experienced sexual assault, domestic violence, human trafficking and elder abuse. It no longer covers child abuse/neglect. Is suitable for all audiences
  2. Identifying and Reporting Child Maltreatment: This course defines child maltreatment, how to identify and steps for making an effective child protective services (CPS) report.
  3. Domestic Violence and the Workplace: This course covers the employee domestic violence policy. It is designed for all managers/supervisors, but any employee is welcome to complete it.
