The MSEC consists of the officers of the Medical Staff, the Department Chairs, the Chief Nursing Officer, the Deans of the Schools of Medicine and Dentistry, the President of the House Staff Council, the President of UNC Faculty Physicians, and the President of UNC Hospitals. The MSEC acts on behalf of the Medical Staff on issues related to all aspects of medical practice. It receives reports on hospital operations, GME, and Nursing.

Performance Review Process Now Open in Taleo

The Performance Review process is now open in Taleo for all employees hired before Sept. 30, 2018. You may begin writing your self-evaluation and requesting peer feedback. If you don’t see a review for yourself, the review may have been withheld due to an incomplete or improperly weighted goal plan and your manager can resolve those issues by emailing Taleohelp@unchealth.unc.edu. Find resources to assist you with Performance Reviews in Taleo by clicking the link in the headline. All Performance Reviews must be completed by Oct. 1, 2019.

Please join the UNC Cancer Network for an online telehealth lecture with Jayne Camporeale, MS, RN, OCN, APRN, and Mary Fleming Knowles, MSN, ANP-C. Radiation therapy can be used alone or in combination with chemotherapy in cancer treatment plans. This discussion will review the different forms of radiation therapy (including Proton Therapy, etc.), how it works, and how it can be used in combination with chemotherapy.

Nurse Residents Present Quality & Leadership Project Presentations

The Nurse residents in the 2018 Cohort 3 will be presenting their Residency Projects on Monday July 8 from 8:30 – 11:30 a.m. in the Carolina Ballrooms of the UNC Morrisville Conference Center. These evidence based projects are a requirement of the Nurse Residency Program. Fourteen projects will be presented.

Scheduling/Registration Staff: What to Do When You Encounter Multiple Hospital Accounts (HARs)

When creating Hospital Accounts (HARs), scheduling/registration end-users will sometimes encounter a message saying “Assign Hospital Account.” This indicates that a HAR for another visit already exists and the visit being scheduled should be assigned (linked) to this existing HAR, instead of having a new HAR created.
