Doctors Day Message from Dr. Burks and Dr. Ewend

Please read this Doctors Day message from Dr. Burks and Dr. Ewend thanking our physicians for all that they do.

Dear Colleagues,

In honor of National Doctors’ Day on March 30, UNC Health Care and the UNC School of Medicine are pleased to recognize the enormous contributions of our physician colleagues. Thanks for your dedication and all that you do to support our mission of improving the health and well-being of North Carolinians and others we serve through your leadership and excellence in patient care, education, and research.

One of our primary goals is to improve physician well-being and create a positive work experience across UNC Health Care. The Well-Being Program aims to improve physician well-being through a comprehensive, system-wide strategy that includes:

  • Innovative approaches to care redesign to improve the flow of practice;
  • Identifying and disseminating tools to increase engagement; and
  • Enhancing wellness programs

In the coming months, look for updates from the Well-Being Program team. Ultimately, we want to meet and exceed the fourth arm of the Quadruple Aim by improving the work life of our physicians and staff.

Thanks again for the outstanding care you provide to our patients each day.

Sincerely,

Wesley Burks, MD                                                                            Matt Ewend, MD
