Effective immediately, the Flow Cytometry Laboratory at UNC Medical Center is offering an immunophenotyping test to enumerate naïve and memory CD4 and CD8 T lymphocytes based on the expression of CD45 RA and CD45 RO. This test is intended for evaluation of patients with suspected T cell primary immune deficiency syndromes.

Starting Thursday, April 21, outpatient pathology and cytology collection at clinics using Beaker will now be done in the 'Order Inquiry' activity using the 'Collect Specimens' button. Users need to click the 'Collection Details' hyperlink to enter their collection information – see step #9 as described in this tip sheet. Additionally, users can now place 'Future' orders - the hard stop for ‘Collection Date’ and ‘Collection Time’ has been removed.

As part of the Beaker Labs Go-Live, there is a planned Epic@UNC clinical downtime scheduled from 9 p.m. Friday, April 15, until 1 a.m. Saturday, April 16. During the planned downtime, Epic@UNC will remain available for registration areas only to allow registration of patients arriving through the Emergency Department and Labor & Delivery areas.
