Inpatient/ED/Behavioral Health Nurses: Columbia Suicide Severity Rating Screen required documentation for admission starting July 21

Starting Sunday, July 21, the Columbia Suicide Severity Rating Screen (C-SSRS) tool is being added to the required documentation for admission at all hospitals using Epic@UNC. The C-SSRS will replace the existing suicide screening.

Medication/Order reconciliation is required for Admission, Discharge, Transfer of level of care, and after procedures in the OR, Endo and Cath/EP labs when the patient is being moved to any inpatient nursing unit. Inpatient Nurses: Active Order for Comfort Measures in 'Daily Cares' flowsheet

Meaningful Use requires that we not only show that comfort measures were ordered in appropriate cases, but also that they were performed. UNC Health Care's Clinical Informatics Group has approved a flowsheet row in the 'Daily Cares' flowsheet to collect this information starting January 2017 for all inpatient nursing units using Epic@UNC.

To help provide more coordinated care for our patients (and patients at other hospitals using Epic), the Care Everywhere ID (CEID) now displays on the inpatient Face Sheet.
