From April 9 - 11, more than 80 meetings were held at NetApp in Morrisville as part of our Epic@UNC Validation Session #2. Thanks to the more than 1,250 people across UNC Health Care who attended these meetings to help provide feedback on our planned Epic@UNC system.

Epic@UNC hardware inventory begins April 15

One requirement for the Epic@UNC implementation is that we inventory all medical devices, monitors, printers, and workstations throughout our facilities so that we can prepare for integrating those devices with the Epic@UNC system. The Epic@UNC Technical Team has commissioned several Information Technology Support employees from Rex, Chatham, UNC Physicians Network, UNC Hospitals, and UNC Faculty Physicians, as well as contractors, to do the inventory beginning April 15.

What's coming up next in the Epic@UNC project?

Next week is a very big week for the Epic@UNC project. Physician overviews and executive overviews are scheduled at UNC Hospitals and Rex on Tuesday and Thursday, Feb. 26 and 28. Also, an Epic@UNC “Subject Matter Expert” kickoff is scheduled for Tuesday, Feb. 26. Additionally, staff from Epic will be on-site at many UNC Health Care facilities for “Discovery Sessions” from Monday, Feb. 25 - Thursday, Feb. 28, to visit with our co-workers and learn how our current workflows and processes work.
