Go-Live #4 Paid Time Off Blackout

We will need the active engagement and support of everyone at our Go-Live #4 and #5 locations to make the transition to Epic@UNC a success. To ensure that all employees are available both before/after Go-Live, we are establishing a policy to limit vacation and Paid Time Off (PTO) during the period surrounding each Epic@UNC Go-Live.

We did not make the decision to limit the use of vacation/PTO lightly - we know this is an inconvenience. However, a vacation/PTO blackout was a critical part of the success of Epic@UNC Go-Lives #1 and #2.

Those with time-off/vacation already approved during the restricted dates will be allowed to take vacation/PTO. There is also a process for exceptions for life events (weddings, births, graduations, etc.) and professional events (board meetings, presenting at a conference, etc). Stay tuned for many more details about the vacation/PTO blackout, including the procedure to request an exception.
