Healthy Eating in Practice is a hands-on CME conference for practitioners, researchers, and influencers, focused on changing the culture of healthcare to better support healthy eating behaviors, particularly in children and families, and prevent chronic diet-related diseases. Grounded in experiential learning, this national conference will equip attendees to address the root causes of these chronic diseases. Through participatory workshops (including hands-on cooking instruction), farm field trips, peer learning, and panels and presentations from leading practitioners, researchers, and policy experts, attendees will gain practical skills and approaches that work in day-to-day life. Several UNC School of Medicine faculty will be presenting, as well as several members of the NC Food and Healthcare Intersections group.

Please join the UNC Cancer Network for an online telehealth lecture with Deborah K. Mayer, PhD, RN, AOCN, FAAN. Survivorship is defined as one who remains alive and continues to function during and after overcoming a serious hardship or life-threatening disease. In cancer, a person is considered to be a survivor from the time of diagnosis until the end of life. This session will review the definition and attributes of being a survivor, what we know about survivors and their needs throughout their cancer journey. Survivorship care planning implications to meet these needs will be described and discussed.
