Please join the UNC Cancer Network for an online telehealth lecture with Meredith Moyers, MS, RD, CSO, LDN. Malnutrition can be a problem for cancer patients, since chemotherapy and/or radiation therapy might negatively affect a cancer patient’s appetite. This lecture discusses screening tools that are available to detect malnutrition and diagnose its extent. RN and Allied Health lectures offer CNE and ASRT continuing education credit (upon approval) for eligible participants. We invite anyone interested to view our lectures. Lectures are viewable online via Zoom Webinar or by participating in the lecture at one of our designated viewing sites. Graduate students conducting research in science, technology, health, mathematics, and related fields are invited to apply for ComSciCon-Triangle 2018, a science communication workshop organized by and for graduate students in the Research Triangle. At this two-day conference, attendees will have the opportunity to develop their science communication skills, network with fellow graduate students passionate about science education and outreach, learn from expert writers and professional science communicators, and produce an original writing for publication. Click here for examples of published pieces from past ComSciCon attendees. ComSciCon-Triangle is a local version of the national ComSciCon workshop, held annually in Cambridge, MA. Founded in 2013 by graduate students at Harvard and MIT, over 300 graduate students nationwide have already participated in the national ComSciCon programs.
