UNC Health media resources for accessing medical experts, broadcast services, broadcast studio availability, and obtaining patient condition reports.

The fastest, most reliable way to reach a UNC expert, especially on deadline, is to call the UNC Health News Team (UNC Medical Center News Office). Members of the News Team are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Reporters must be escorted by a member of the news team while in UNC Health hospital facilities in order to comply with federal patient confidentiality policies.

Accessing Medical Experts

News media: call (984) 974-1140. If you call between 5 p.m. and 8 a.m. ET, leave a voice message and a member of the news team will be paged.

During business hours, contact Tom Hughes, media relations/social media strategist, at (984) 974-1151 or Tom.Hughes@unchealth.unc.edu.
