On March 9 the FDA approved Benlysta, the first new drug for lupus to be approved in more than 50 years.

Dr. Mary Anne Dooley, a UNC rheumatologist who was the principal investigator in a Phase III clinical trial of Benlysta, says this is good news.  Lupus patient Serena McPherson shares her story and hope for a worthwhile treatment.
