Genealogical testing is the second most popular hobby in the United States, and more and more new direct-to-consumer genetics analysis companies are getting in the game. But the parsing the results of genetic testing is not as simple as you might think. ABC 11 reporter Tisha Powell consulted with Jonathan Berg, MD, PhD, associate professor of genetics at the UNC School of Medicine to learn about the ins and outs of genetic testing, including what her own results say and don't say about her health and ancestry.

Berg, who is also a member of the UNC Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center, is currently conducting a large national study to determine the best way to roll out genetics testing for newborns.
