UNC Health Care achieves highest recognition in health analytics UNC Health Care has achieved Stage 7 designation – the highest rank possible – as tracked by the Adoption Model for Analytics Maturity (AMAM) from HIMSS Analytics, a global healthcare research advisory firm. Stage 7 recognizes “personalized medicine & prescriptive analytics,” and UNC Health Care is one of only two organizations in the world that have reached Stage 7 on the AMAM.
UNC School of Medicine Ranked Number One for Primary Care
In the organization’s annual rankings of “America’s Best Graduate Schools,” U.S. News & World Report ranked UNC School of Medicine 1st in primary care, 23rd in research, and 14th for obstetrics and gynecology.
UNC Health Care achieves Stage 7 designation on HIMSS Analytics’ Electronic Medical Record Adoption Model UNC Health Care has achieved Stage 7 designation for hospitals and outpatient practices on the HIMSS Analytics Electronic Medical Record Adoption Model. This is a significant achievement given that Stage 7 designation – the highest ranking available – is held by only six percent of U.S. health systems.

M. Sue Kirkman, MD, Professor of Medicine and Medical Director of the UNC Diabetes Care Center's Clinical Trials Unit, has been appointed Chair of the National Diabetes Education Program. Kirkman's term as Chair begins on Jan. 1, 2018.
