Call for nominations: 2009 Distinguished Faculty Award

The purpose of the award is to recognize excellence in teaching, contributions to medicine in the state, leadership in continuing education of practicing physicians, and accomplishments in improving communications between faculty, alumni and people of the state.

We urge you to submit nominations for individual faculty members who you feel are deserving of this recognition.

The Distinguished Faculty Award (DFA) was established in 1978 by the Medical Alumni Association to be given annually to a full-time member of the school.  Full-time UNC-AHEC faculty are to be included in consideration.  Past and present deans of the School of Medicine are not eligible.

The award will be presented on Friday, April 25, 2009 as part of the annual Spring Medical Alumni Weekend.  The School of Medicine Distinguished Service Awards will also be presented at that time.

All nominations must include the curriculum vitae of the person you nominate, a primary letter of nomination, and two additional letters of support.

The nomination, CV, and supporting letters are due no later than *January 9, 2009* and should be submitted to the Medical Alumni Office (CB# 9530, G050 Bondurant Hall) or email to medalum@med.unc.edu.
