Route changes on Triangle Transit, Ridesharing information

Route Changes on Most Triangle Transit Routes From 12-1-08
Triangle Transit's transfer center is moving.  The brand new Regional Transit Center opens Dec. 1. The new transit center, located in Durham's Imperial Center, is adjacent to Research Triangle Park.

Most of Triangle Transit's routes will have schedule and routing changes starting December 1, including some that will not serve the Regional Transit Center.  To view the revised schedules and maps, as well as information about the new transit center, please visit:

If you have any questions about the new Regional Transit Center or the schedule changes please contact Triangle Transit Customer Service at 919-485-RIDE (7433).

Changes to Triangle Transit 420
Apart from the new transit center, in order to improve the on-time performance of peak-hour trips on route 420, the route 420 schedule was changed effective Monday, Nov. 17.

To view the updated schedule please visit:

There are also two stop changes for the route 420 starting Monday, Nov. 17:

• The stop on Millhouse Rd at Town Operations Center on the first AM trip from Hillsborough will now be drop-off only.  Passengers who wish to be dropped off at this stop will need to inform the operator upon boarding the vehicle.

• The stop on East Dr at Jackson Cir will now be served on every southbound trip.

Triangle Transit Online Store

Don't qualify for a free GoPass? If you purchase your regional transit pass directly from Triangle Transit, you can do so online by visiting its online store. Pass orders are processed and mailed within 24 hrs, and customers typically receive their pass within 2-3 business days. The store has a guide to help you figure out which pass is best for you and other information helpful to all riders of the Triangle Transit system.
Let's Talk Alternatives

Here's three ways to find a rideshare match:

1. Visit to find out quickly if there are already vanpool / carpool matches out there for you or to notify others of your willingness to give ridesharing a try.

2. If (and only if) you can give us a contact email or phone number, send your particulars to us and we will send them out each month in this newsletter. Get your information in to us by the last week of the present month to make it into the next newsletter.

3. Contact us if you would like someone from the Department of Public Safety to come to speak to your group about commuter alternatives. We have had some great meetings in recent weeks.
