Dr. Roper testifies at Senate Hearing on "Improving Health Care Quality: An Integral Step Toward Health Reform"

Senate Finance Committee held hearings on September 9

Dr. Roper testified at a U.S. Senate Finance Committee meeting this week, commenting on the importance of including quality in healthcare reform, the role of performance measurement and public reporting in quality improvement, the importance of having national priorities to guide reform, and areas of reform that require federal leadership.

Dr. Roper serves as chairman of the National Quality Forum, in addition to his roles as Dean of the School of Medicine and CEO of UNC Health Care System.
