e-Chart scheduled downtime Jan. 13

E-Chart will be unavailable from 10:15 p.m. Tuesday through 4:15 a.m. Wednesday

On Tuesday, Jan. 13, ISD will apply the Service Pack 7 & 8 upgrade to the e-Chart software. The upgrade will start at 10:15 p.m. Tuesday night. e-Chart is scheduled to be back online around 4:15 a.m. Wednesday morning. CDIC agreed on the date and time in the November meeting.

E-Chart will be unavailable from 10:15 p.m. Tuesday through 4:15 a.m. Wednesday. Users should follow the e-Chart downtime procedures as defined on page 15-16 of the e-Chart Policy. Everything charted on paper will remain on paper and must be placed in the permanent medical record.

Make sure you have sufficient stock of paper forms on hand. Vital signs and Intake and Output TOTALS must be reentered once the downtime is over. ISD will notify the House Supervisor and provide status updates on the e-Chart Web page during the upgrade. Please pass this information on to your staff.

Key Benefits of this upgrade include:

  • Ability to launch the Clinician Flowsheet directly from WebCIS when version 2.11 is rolled out in Feb 2009.
  • Ability to launch the Clinician Flowsheet directly from the e-Chart Patient Header - icon looks like a green ECG Tracing.
  • A “Current-24 “ view of Clinician Flowsheet (CFS) – the current hour displays as the far right column, highlighted in yellow, and then allows viewing of the last 24 hours by moving scroll bar at the bottom of the screen.
  • Database changes are being made to improve the speed and performance.
  • Upgrade will help preparations for a WebCIS Rounds Report that includes e-Chart vital signs and floor patient I&O data.
