UNC Institute on Aging hosts the Sixth Annual Aging Exchange on Sept. 15

Share your research with colleagues. Poster abstracts due Sept. 4.

Please join us for the 6th Annual Aging Exchange, an evening dedicated to promoting aging research at UNC Chapel Hill. The event will be held in collaboration with the Prevention Research Centers-Healthy Aging Research Network (PRC-HAN) "Promoting Environmental and Policy Change to Support Healthy Aging" Conference on Tuesday, Sept. 15 from 5:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. at the Friday Center. We will award honors to outstanding campus leaders and students and feature the work of faculty, postdoctoral fellows, clinical scholars, and graduate students. A reception with poster presentations will be followed by the presentation of the DeFriese Awards and the PRC-HAN Conference keynote address by Larry Adelman, Executive Producer of the award-winning PBS series, "Unnatural Causes: Is Inequality Making Us Sick?"

This is a great opportunity to showcase research in any area of aging. We are accepting all aging-related posters from faculty or students, including posters that may have been presented at other conferences or events.

Cash prizes will be given for the best posters in two categories: 1) Graduate level (both Master and Doctoral students), and 2) Post Doctoral Fellow/Clinical Scholar (faculty are not eligible for prizes). In addition, cash awards will be given for 1) the poster that best reflects university-community partnerships and/or patient transitions and 2) the poster that best reflects interdisciplinary research.

Details and the application form are attached and are also available on the IOA Web site. The deadline for poster abstracts is 5 p.m. Friday, Sept. 4. Abstracts should be submitted electronically to Diane Wurzinger at diane_wurzinger@unc.edu using the application form on the IOA Web site.
