Attention pedestrians/PD permit holders

A flashing traffic signal recently installed by the Town of Chapel Hill at the intersection of West Drive and Mason Farm Road will become fully operational soon.

This traffic signal will be equipped with push-button pedestrian crossing signals. This change in the traffic pattern may cause delays when exiting the Cardinal Parking Deck during peak traffic periods onto Mason Farm Road nearest West Drive, and PD permit holders are encouraged to use the exit between the Cardinal and Dogwood decks for access to Mason Farm.

Due to the high volume of vehicular and foot traffic in this area and the impact of construction and the activation of the new traffic signal, motorists and pedestrians should practice caution and cooperation. For more information about the traffic signal installation, contact the Town of Chapel Hill Traffic Engineering office at 968-2833. For further parking information or questions, call the UNC Department of Public Safety at 962-3951.
