"Rex On Call" is a monthly television program aired on NCB 17, WNCN-TV, and the Triangle's only televised, live medical call-in program. Each 30-minute episode features physicians and other clinical experts and focuses on a specific health issue. The series exposes viewers to a variety of health care topics ranging from specific diseases and conditions to broader health-related subjects. Viewers can call in during the live program or e-mail in advance to have their health questions answered by the guests. The show is enhanced by pre-taped, patient-centered stories.

Saturday's episode of "Rex On Call" will feature 9-year-old Ted "Trae" Brooks, III, a Children's Hospital patient from Lumberton, and interviews with his pediatric pulmonologists, Dr. Ceila Loughlin. The video vignette, taped at the North Carolina Children's Specialty Clinic in Raleigh, will show highlights of the Children's Hospital's new outpatient clinic, located on the Rex Healthcare campus.

In addition to being broadcast on television, "Rex On Call" streams live on NBC 17's Web site at nbc17.mync.com. Past episodes are archived online and available for later viewing.
