Sikh worship service

Would you like to learn more about the Sikh faith? Are you a Sikh looking for an opportunity to attend a Sikh service? A brief morning Sikh worship service will take place on Monday, Nov. 2 from 10:15 - 10:45 a.m. in the Cancer Hospital Chapel on the ground floor.

We will be celebrating, with song and verse, the birthday of the founder of the Sikh faith, Guru Nanak.

The origins of Sikhism are found in India in the 1400's. It is customary to remove one's shoes, to cover one's head (any head covering will do, bring your own or one will be supplied), and to sit on the floor (chairs will be available to those not able to sit on the floor) during worship.

Come join the Dept. of Pastoral Care for a meditative experience. Cookies will be served at the conclusion of the service. S.S. Hardarshan Kaur Khalsa, an ordained Sikh Ministyer and UNC Hospitals' volunteer, will lead our service. Manjeet Singh will provide authentic Indian music.
