Upcoming Events at the UNC Wellness Center

Upcoming events listed include a discussion on colorectal cancer and an introduction to medical acupuncture.

Basics of colorectal cancer, Monday, Oct. 19, 6:30 - 8 p.m.
Dr. Sidney Levinson, Professor of Medicine at the UNC School of Medicine and Director of UNC Hospitals Endoscopy Center, will review the basics about colorectal cancer, including the incidence, the risk factors, the annual mortality from the disease, and methods of prevention. Dr. Levinson will focus on colon cancer screening with colonoscopy, including some of the more recent techniques which enhance our ability to find and remove pre-cancerous polyps. This event will be held at the UNC Wellness Center and is free.

Introduction to medical acupuncture, Wednesday, Oct. 21, 6:30 - 8 p.m.
The research behind medical acupuncture is impressive! This seminar offers a chance to experience acupuncture in a non-threatening environment. Designed for those who are curious about how acupuncture feels, or those who want to learn more about it. This event will be held at the UNC Wellness Center and is free.
