Is that time of year again and the students have packed up and headed home to celebrate the holidays with their families. While they celebrate, we struggle to find platelet donors. More than 70 percent of our donors are students. That only leaves 30 percent of our donor base available in December to help meet the need at UNC Hospitals.  If you have any spare time, we would love for you to drop in for a couple of hours and donate platelets.

Please come in and donate. There are many very special patients here at UNC Health Care who would be very grateful if you did! Platelets are only good for five days; therefore the need for platelets and platelet donors is constant.
