TeamSTEPPS training marathon during Quality Expo

TeamSTEPPS Master trainers will provide our standard TeamSTEPPS training almost continuously for 24 hours beginning the morning of Oct. 19 - the day of the Quality Expo taking place in the Children's Hospital lobby.

The training offered will consist of a 50 minute video, followed by a 60 minute interactive lecture with role play. 2.5 hours of CE units can be received for viewing the video, completing two readings and participating in the interactive lecture.

The video viewing and readings can be completed in advance of attending the interactive lecture on your own time and is available on LMS (Search on TeamSTEPPS Online Course, PIMTEAMS1). Please sign up for Interactive Lecture sessions in LMS at PIMTEAMS2.  Walk-ins will also welcome.

TeamSTEPPS is an evidence-based teamwork system aimed at optimizing patient outcomes by improving communication and other teamwork skills among health care professionals. The training covers four essential constructs required for optimum team function; leadership, situation awareness, mutual support and communication. During the past several years, TeamSTEPPS has been implemented in 15 clinical areas at UNC Health Care. Click here for a flyer with a detailed schedule.
