Community partners pledge to 'Turn the Town Pink' in October

Community partners have turned out in force to help UNC Lineberger "Turn the Town Pink" to benefit UNC’s Comprehensive Cancer Support Program (CCSP). More than 40 community partners have committed to turning the town pink – through store displays, special events and promotions.

“Despite this month’s pink theme, this effort helps patients and families facing all different types of cancer,” said UNC Lineberger’s Mary Seagroves.

The CCSP is a multidisciplinary program dedicated to helping patients and their caregivers with cancer treatment, recovery and survivorship.

“This community has come out in force to Turn the Town Pink and we invite anyone who is interested to follow us on Facebook and Twitter to find out the latest special events and promotions,” said Seagroves.

“We hope that everyone will join us in our efforts to support patients and families facing cancer by patronizing participating businesses,” she added.

Tickled Pink at Twilight will be held on Thursday, Oct. 28, 6-9 p.m. at Top of the Hill, featuring a fun event and silent auction, overlooking downtown Chapel Hill.  Tickets can be purchased online at http://cancer.unc.edu/tickledpink/ beginning Monday, Sept. 27 or by calling 966-5905.  A full calendar of Turn the Town Pink events and promotions is available here.
