Participate in the 2010 UNC Health Care Multicultural Fair

It’s that time again! UNC Health Care's 2010 Multicultural Fair is scheduled from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 5 in the Hospital lobbies. We would like all employees to help us celebrate the many cultures of UNC Health Care by participating in the fair this year!

The purpose of the fair is to celebrate diversity of all kinds among our employees, provide education and promote tolerance.

Here are some ways you can help:

  • Submit a family recipe! The recipes will become part of a cook-booklet available at the fair, and several recipes will be chosen by Nutrition and Food Services to be showcased at the fair, as well.
  • Suggest or participate in an entertainment group! We are looking for a variety of performances and demonstrations: music, dance, poetry, fashion show, storytelling, etc.
  • Create an exhibit! We are looking for displays of art, clothing, crafts, books and other information that expresses and celebrates your culture and traditions – even if you were born and raised in N.C. We also encourage exhibits that show how your department/unit promotes cultural competence.
  • Sell your handmade cultural items! Eligible work must be handcrafted by the exhibitor and have cultural significance or background.

This year it’s easy to apply for everything at once! Find an application and more information on the fair at: Submit your applications by Oct. 15. Click here for a printable flyer.
