Health Sciences Library names room for Dr. Wilcox
The UNC Health Sciences Library plans to rename its Historical Collections Reading Room as “The Benson Reid Wilcox Historical Collections Reading Room” in recognition of Dr. Benson Wilcox.

Nursing Award Call for Nominations
The awards, valued at $1,000 each, may be used over a three-year period to cover expenses associated with professional development and/or attendance at scientific conferences or meetings that will enhance the recipient’s knowledge and abilities in the health care setting.
Fuller Award Call for Nominations
The H. Fleming Fuller Award is intended as a permanent memorial to Kinston, N.C., physician H. Fleming Fuller, a founding member of the Board of Directors of the N.C. Memorial Hospital. In establishing the Fuller Award, the Board sought to recognize members of the medical staff who demonstrate the qualities embodied in Dr. Fuller’s lifelong dedication to the highest standards of patient care, teaching and community service.

After careful consideration, the School of Medicine has made the decision to no longer accept funding or gifts from the tobacco industry or other tobacco-related entities in support of its research mission.
