South Columbia cause lane closures, delays

The stretch of South Columbia Street between Cameron Avenue and Franklin Street will undergo repairs and repaving from Monday, July 12, to Friday, Aug. 13.

Though two-way traffic will be maintained at all times, motorists are asked to proceed with caution in this area, to observe traffic and pedestrian barriers and detour signs, and to expect traffic congestion and delays. Motorists may wish to use alternate travel routes when possible.

Curbs and gutters will be replaced and the road surface will be milled down, repaved and re-striped in the affected area. Lane closures will occur throughout the length of the project with work occurring during both daytime and overnight hours. Bus stops and the pedestrian crosswalk at Fraternity Court will be temporarily relocated and/or detoured as needed. To see a map of the affected area, click here.
