VIDEO: A 'Miracle Baby' at UNC Hospitals
17-month old Jessiah Jackson was rushed to UNC Hospitals with a metal rod stuck in his brain. UNC neurosurgeon Dr. Anand V. Germanwala removed the rod and helped to save the little boy's life. Jessiah is being called a 'Miracle Baby' and has earned national attention along with Dr. Germanwala.
Hillsborough Certificate of Need update
As you may know, in April 2009 UNC Health Care applied for a Certificate of Need (CON) to build a new hospital on 83.4 acres of land we purchased in Hillsborough. Please read the following message about CON approval from Gary L. Park, President, UNC Hospitals.

Blog: Less restrictive guidelines issued on vaginal birth after c-section
Last week the American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists released new guidelines that say, “Attempting a vaginal birth after cesarean (VBAC) is a safe and appropriate choice for most women who have had a prior cesarean delivery, including for some women who have had two previous cesareans.”
HSL 2010 Journal Review and Cancellation Process – Extended Deadline
Once again the economic environment has compelled the Health Sciences Library (HSL) to conduct a careful review of journal costs. In order to get more feedback, we’ve extended the deadline to submit reviews by a week, to August 6, 2010.
