Drs. Weil, Cook, Fitzpatrick, Woolsey and Cross were recognized at the Academy of Educators' Evening of Scholarship on May 18.

Amy Weil, MD

Amy Weil, MD, Associate Professor in the Department of Medicine was chosen to receive the Clinical Preceptor Excellence in Teaching Award. This award recognizes faculty who are excellent teachers and role models for medical students during their clinical training.

Jeanette Cook, PhD

Jeanette Cook, PhD, Assistant Professor in the Department of Biochemistry & Biophysics was chosen to receive the Basic Science Excellence in Teaching Award. This award recognizes faculty who are excellent teachers in the basic science courses during the first two years of medical school.

   
Doug Fitzpatrick 

Douglas Fitzpatrick, PhD

Douglas Fitzpatrick, PhD, Assistant Professor in the Department of Otolaryngology was chosen to receive the Medical Student Research Mentor Award. This award recognizes excellence in training medical students in the fundamentals of medical research and research ethics.

   
John Woosley 

John Woosley, MD, PhD

John Woosley, MD, PhD, Professor in the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine was chosen to receive the Innovation in Teaching Award. This award recognizes innovation in medical student teaching.

   
Alan Cross 

Alan Cross, MD

Alan Cross, MD, Professor in the Departments of Social Medicine and Pediatrics was chosen to receive the Lifetime Achievement Award. This award recognizes faculty who have demonstrated sustained excellence in teaching and mentoring medical students over 10 years or more.
