Memorial Fund Established for Dr. Patricia Gregory
On Sunday, June 13, 2010, surrounded by family, Patricia Gregory, MD, passed away at UNC Hospitals. She was an assistant professor of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

DeSimone accepts adjunct appointment at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center
Joseph DeSimone, PhD, a member of UNC Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center, has been appointed as an adjunct member at New York’s Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center’s Cancer Nanocenter. The appointment is part of a strategic alliance aimed at building Sloan-Kettering’s capabilities in nanomedicine and broadening the geographic base of DeSimone’s pioneering work based in North Carolina.
Morrow appointed editor of Psychopharmacology Journal
Starting in July, A. Leslie Morrow, PhD, faculty member in the Bowles Center for Alcohol Studies, will become the principal editor for the molecular neuropsychopharmacology section of Psychopharmacology.
Matthews named Division Director for Urogynecology
Catherine Matthews, MD, has been named Division Chief for Urogynecology & Reconstructive Pelvic Surgery in the Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology. She will join the Department on July 1.
NC TraCS Responsible Conduct of Research: five-day course
This one-week course, organized and run by David Weber, MD, MPH, Director of the NC TraCS Institute Regulatory Core, covers all the NIH-required topics for the first phase of responsible conduct of research training. It will take place July 12-16.
