Visitor restrictions lifted April 1

As UNC Hospitals is now seeing only small numbers of persons with novel H1N1 influenza, we will remove our automatic visitor restrictions for persons under 13 years of age effective April 1.

However, persons should not visit inpatients at UNC Hospitals or come to an outpatient clinic if they have symptoms of an infection such as fever with cough or sore throat unless they are here for a medical evaluation. As other viral upper respiratory diseases are still occurring in the community, individual inpatient unit directors may continue restrictions on child visitation at their discretion.
