Baric elected to Microbiology Academy

Ralph S. Baric, PhD, was recently elected as a fellow in the American Academy of Microbiology along with 77 other scientists from across the country.

Baric's research focuses mainly on vaccine development and the study of RNA virus transcription, replication and recombination.

Fellows of the Academy are elected annually through a highly selective, peer-reviewed process, based on their records of scientific achievement and original contributions that have advanced microbiology. There are now over 2,000 Fellows representing all subspecialties of microbiology, including basic and applied research, teaching, public health, industry, and government service.
